Sam was born in Brooklyn, and at nearly age expressed an interest in acting. At the age of 5, he was cast as Jiminy Cricket, the narrator of his first grade class production of "Turkey Lurkey."
Encouraged by his parents to pursue his dream, as a teenager he attended Brooklyn's The Academy of Arts in Erasmus Hall High School majoring in drama, and earned his SAG-AFTRA card booking commercials.
Sam obtained his Bachelor's degree in theater (with a minor concentration in Art History) from Syracuse University and began working in regional theater, and Off-Broadway. He has participated in play readings and workshops of plays at The Actors Studio, New York Stage Film and Sound, Around The Block, and The Women's Project, to name a few.
While theater remains Sam's first love, he continues to audition and work in television, film, and commercially.
